Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Cases In Ulster, Sullivan Counties By Community

Multiple COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Ulster and Sullivan County this week, as the number of active cases, though the number of active cases is dropping.

Four new deaths were reported in Ulster County this week, bringing the total to 217, while Sullivan County reported three new virus-related fatalities as the death toll rose to 65.

In Ulster County, there are now a total of 2,256 active COVID-19 cases being monitored by the Department of Health as of Friday, Feb. 5, down from 2,622 on Monday, Feb. 1, while there are 211 active cases in Sullivan County, officials reported, down 50.

According to the latest data from the state Department of Health, there were 20 new COVID-19 cases reported in Sullivan in the past 24 hours, with another 46 in Ulster.

A total of 249,234 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Ulster since last March, resulting in a total of 9,709 positive cases. Health officials in Sullivan have seen 4,183 confirmed cases out of 79,908 tests.

  • New Paltz: 113 (563);
  • Esopus: 94 (391);
  • Rochester: 80 (242);
  • Rosendale: 69 (188);
  • Hurley: 58 (231);
  • Marbletown: 57 (163);
  • Gardiner: 46 (191);
  • Olive: 33 (118);
  • Woodstock: 29 (143);
  • Shandaken: 15 (67);
  • Denning: 2 (12);
  • Town of Kingston: 2 (7);
  • Hardenburg: 1 (1).

Specific data about Sullivan County municipalities was not available on Feb. 5.

Statewide, a total of 1,440,718 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 32.78 million tests that have been administered. There have been a total of 35,767 virus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
